We are truly a Mom & Pop shop located in La Grange, KY. We live a Margaritaville lifestyle beginning our days in our chairs on our brightly painted deck set in the woods, and end our days whenever that might be, with a cocktail in those same chairs. We appreciate your interest in our furniture and will do everything we can to make something special for you.

Questions about Boardwalk Bernie's Furniture

What are the chairs constructed of?
We use poplar to construct our furniture. This wood is free of knots, has great strength, is light weight and accepts it's painted finish beautifully.
Can I leave my furniture outside?
Yes, our furniture is intended for outdoor use. Each chair receives two coats of exterior primer, two coats of base paint, the artwork and then two coats of clear coat. DO NOT apply any type of sealer or coating to our furniture without checking with us first. Certain products will ruin your furniture and are not needed. 
How do I store my furniture in the off season?
If you must bring in your furniture during the off season, we recommend a well ventilated area. Our furniture expands and contracts with the changes in temperature and will be fine under a covered porch or like structure. DO NOT store your furniture in a shed or cover it with a tight fitting cover. Such storage will lead to a build up of mold and/or fungus. If you have any questions about storage please contact us.
How do I clean my furniture?
We suggest that you use only dish washing soap and warm water. Be very careful not to use any bottled cleaner because any type of ammonia or other solvents, will attack latex paints causing them to deteriorate. Bernie's will not be liable for damage caused by using the wrong cleaner.
What are the chairs dimensions?
The chairs are 40 high X 36 wide X 36 deep. The arms measure 32 1/2 inches, front to back and are about 7 1/2 inches wide. The width of the seat is 19 inches and the length about 22 inches.
Shipping
All orders will be drop shipped via FedEx Ground from Boardwalk Bernie's. We ship our furniture without signature required to make delivery easier. If you feel the need for signature required services, please indicate when ordering. Each unit will be fully insured by Boardwalk Bernie's against damages during shipment. However this insurance does not cover theft or damages once delivered. All claims will be handled by Bernie's. 
Assembly
All of our furniture is first assembled the disassembled prior to shipping. This procedure insures that all of the predrilled holes will properly line up for your assembly. Your chair will arrive in four parts: two arms, a seat and the back. There are easy to understand instructions plus phone numbers for assembly help. You will need to drive four screws and install ten carriage bolts. That's all.
